For years, we’ve watched parents share stories like this. Children exposed to group chats, bullying, pressure and content they simply aren’t emotionally ready to handle.
The Other phone is the only smartphone that's built with child-safety in mind.
With Safety Mode, parents can help protect their child across social media apps - including WhatsApp - while still allowing healthy connection and communication.
Children deserve technology designed with their wellbeing at the centre, not as an afterthought.

💬 "Are we giving young brains what they need to thrive?"
👶 As the Princess of Wales visits Reggio Emilia to learn more about their approach, Professor Sam Wass reflects for Mumsnet on early childhood, science, and the world our children are growing up in.

Recognising medical misogyny is half the battle – and just like gaslighting, it often doesn’t sound confrontational – it may even sound caring and empathetic. But that doesn’t change the litmus test – are you feeling unheard? Are your symptoms and lived experiences being invalidated because you are female?
I hope the steps and tools in the video are helpful but obviously it’s limited by virtue of time – there is so much more about the Gender Health Gap in the book – How to Talk So Your Doctor Will Listen, but also as an addendum:
Remember too that signalling *accountability* can be helpful – whether by taking someone with you, or simply being very clear that you are taking notes to share with your partner, boss, family etc “so you don’t miss anything important”
You can also resort to the (slightly horrific) messaging of how your symptoms are affecting a male member of your family or work team… Makes me feel nauseous to even say this, but anecdotally mentioning that your partner wants to start a family can make a big difference to how seriously gynaecological symptoms are taken.
If you’re confronted by an entrenched misogynist, you may be better served to walk away and rebook with a different doctor, but we all know that this isn’t always possible – so sometimes asking “If this was your wife or daughter dealing with these symptoms, what would you be considering next?” can be another helpful avenue to try.
Do let me know your experiences in the comments – what worked, what didn’t, or if you’ve simply given up trying…
And if you would like videos on other issues you are dealing with in accessing the healthcare you need, do message me and I will do my best…

We’re excited to share that AQUAPHOR’s Water Filtration Jug is Mumsnet Rated! After testing over two weeks, 89% of the 257 Mumsnetters who took part said they would recommend it – praising how it improved the taste of their water and encouraged their families to drink more.
One tester shared: “It was great and we’ve drunk much more water as a result! It’s made a big improvement to our water and I love that it fits in our fridge.

Parents are tired of waiting for the Government and big tech to keep children safe online.
Campaigners have warned that progress on online child safety has been “stalled and delayed” at the highest levels of government. Protections that should have existed years ago are still being debated, delayed, and deprioritised.
With the Other phone, parents don’t have to wait for politicians or tech companies to catch up.
It’s a smartphone built with child safety as a forethought - not an afterthought - giving parents more control, fewer risks, and kids a safer start online.

@mumsnet reached out to me to let me know what they are doing and how we can help!
All info below and petition is in my bio 🚨
Mumsnet’s Medical Misogyny campaign.
“We’ve just launched a petition focused on clinician training in women’s health and sex-specific medicine /petitions/764079
Our research shows that medical misogyny isn’t about isolated bad experiences — it reflects a wider culture where women’s symptoms are more likely to be dismissed, misattributed or not recognised. That’s partly a training issue: many clinicians aren’t taught how conditions present differently in women, or how to identify female-specific conditions early, and there’s no compulsory ongoing training to keep them up to date in developments around women’s health.
The result is what women describe again and again on Mumsnet — being told symptoms are “normal”, “stress” or “in their head”, and facing delays to diagnosis and treatment.”
Any shares, signatures etc will be much appreciated guys 🫶🏻

Sounds like something straight out of a dystopian sci-fi film… but it’s real.
A new report highlighted by The Telegraph found children are using fake birthdays, drawn-on moustaches and other tricks to bypass online age checks - with some parents even helping them do it.
The findings, from online safety organisation Internet Matters, raise serious questions about how effective current age verification systems really are.
The safety of children online has always been an afterthought. That's why we collaborated to build the Other phone. It's the only child-safe smartphone, built with online safety in mind.

If you’re a female patient in the UK then you will almost certainly have encountered Medical Misogyny in your healthcare experience, whether you recognised it as such or not.
Indeed 53% of Mumsnet users have avoided NHS care fearing they wouldn’t be taken seriously.
So let’s talk about what it actually looks like, because it is *so* much more than dismissing or invalidating the lived experience and reported symptoms of female patients – it’s a systemic problem.
*Getting a diagnosis will take longer – not just for female issues but also for gender neutral conditions like Heart Disease and 6 out of 11 Cancers.
For conditions that rely solely on clinical presentation, that delay is increased…
*Women’s pain is less likely to be acknowledged or adequately treated
*Same symptoms as men taken less seriously – chest pain and shortness of breath as a prime example – 68% of Mumsnet users say that women’s health concerns are not taken seriously
*Women more likely to have adverse drug reactions or to be over medicated – drug trials & dosage guidelines are still predominantly male-centric and so petite women in particular are being “overmedicated”.
*Turning to Chat GPT may not give you the respite from misogyny that you were hoping for, as implicit bias has been encoded into its underlying data, clinical norms, evaluation and urgency benchmarks, meaning that AI is now reproducing old medical biases at scale.
Would you recognise misogyny in your own healthcare?
Just like medical gaslighting it doesn’t need to sound confrontational – it may also be caring and empathetic
There’s a whole chapter in the book about recognising, addressing and dealing with medical misogyny in your healthcare appointments, but drop me a follow and a comment if you’d like a video on that too.
Please sign the government petition from Mumsnet linked in my bio and do let me know your experiences…

For years on Mumsnet, we’ve seen parents asking the same questions: when should they get a phone, how do you manage the addictive nature of smartphones, and how do you keep them safe online?
That's why we collaborated on the Other phone... to give parents an alternative to smartphones that aren't designed with children in mind.
As Tim Berners-Lee, founder of the World Wide Web, said, it’s “an alternative to devices that allow unfettered access to social media.”
It's the only smartphone that blocks harmful content within any app.
