Not everyday that I have 3 of my stories in the 4 most read section, alongside the front page headline story as well.. today is that day π₯³πππ€Έ

Everyone has been saying for years that the AI bubble is to burst soon.. but from what I see around, i find the opposite is true. And there are some structural reasons for the same. In this piece, once again, i discuss the same.. google and read if you want to find out what almost no one's talking about when they talk about the rise of AI.

Most people take photo of their finger that has been stamped with the violet ink unique to India. What we should actually photograph after voting is the gyan mudra with the thumb out. Because the other violet ink is the smudge that remains when you give the thumb print, an old activity when most Indians well illiterate, yet one which continues till date as I found out this morning. Why, i asked the poling officer? Why not let us sign? It's easier, quicker this way, he said.
So ya, happy election day violet smears in gyan mudra. At least it's not violent.
And who did i vote for? That was a dilemma because both the main candidates - from the BJP and Congress, from my constituency, were polite men who were courteous with each other and did not fling mud at each other, a far cry from how yucky it's been in the rest of Assam.
So who did I vote for then? None Of Thou Affairs to know unless you are samajhdar, in which case an ishara to you is enough πππ

Is it some psychological trick that #books that have the word 'good' in the title, turn out to be best sellers.
In this pic of the #bestseller display at #Crossword, #Dynamix mall - four have 'good' in the title.
Yesterday, I drive my cycle to Infinity, Andheri to watch Boong. At the entry, the security guard stops me from a distance, comes for a routine check. It's a drill, perhaps imprinted into his synapses. So, I ask, looking back, "Dickie khol doon." He burst out laughing.
At the security pat down I am preceded by two kids, early 20s at most, followed by a couple more in my age bracket. At the lift the young boys haven't yet pressed the only button they had to: 3. So i ask, pressing it: "Don't want to go anywhere." They look confused, mutter something about still thinking. The couple interject: "AI generation, man," the accusation implicit in the tone. The kids give an uneasy smile. I blurted out: "And we? We are the aai (mother) generation."
Everyone laughed, tension relieved, as Schindler's Lift dinged on the third floor and we headed to our respected films.

TNIE web-only Column | When international delegates can't pay for food because the cashless society suddenly went cash-only, when innovators can't access their own booths because of security sweeps, when products get stolen from "high-security zones": these donβt remain footnotes but become fundamental failures that will undercut the message, and in the long run will pull the nation down. If we canβt get the old basics right, how can we pull off the newest tech in the country?
Perhaps that's the true lesson from the India AI Impact Summit 2026. We may get the fanciest algorithms, the most impressive robots, and the most inspiring acronyms everyone nods to. But if people can't get food, water, or working internet; if queues stretch for hours; if a star attraction turns out to be a Chinese import with an Indian name, then it is a problem that demands all of us to roll up our sleeves and get to work.
