With temperatures expected to reach into the 90s today, please remember that this early in the season our bodies have not yet acclimated to the heat.
🧊When outside today, drink more water and take cooling breaks, seek shade or air conditioning spaces — even a few minutes of cooling can help prevent heat illness. Find info about cool spaces at multco.us/hot (link in bio).
Heat illness can affect anyone, but especially young people, pregnant people, and people over 50, as well as people with chronic medical conditions. Please watch out for symptoms in yourself and others.

☀️ It’s going to be hot this weekend! While you may be tempted to cool off in a natural body of water, hot temps combined with cold, early-season snowmelt can be dangerous, even for experienced swimmers. Be aware of swift currents, cold water temps, uneven surfaces and hidden hazards in rivers and lakes.
As @multcohealth 's Dr. Richard Bruno and @pdxfirerescue 's Rick Graves remind us, always wear a life jacket and watch children around water to ensure their safety — especially as we head into summer months.
Children should only go into the water with:
➡Adult permission
➡With a properly fitted children’s life jacket. Remember: Water wings (and floaties) are not life jackets!
You can find a map of beaches with loaner jackets and tips on how to select the right life jacket at: multco.us/hot "Swim and Splash Safely" (link in bio)

The May 19, 2026 Primary Election is right around the corner! If you need to register to vote or change your party affiliation, you have until Tuesday, April 28, 2026 to do so.
➡️ Why does party affiliation matter?
Oregon has closed primaries. This means voters who want to vote in a major party’s closed May Primary Elections must be registered as a member of that party by the deadline.
