Could ultra processed foods play a role in childhood MS risk? A new study has looked at whether higher consumption of ultra processed foods may be linked to paediatric onset MS, which is when MS begins in childhood or adolescence. Researchers found an association, but more research is needed. MS is a complex condition, and diet is only one area being explored. This Mental Health Awareness Week, the theme is taking action. ๐Ÿ’œ For people living with MS, taking action at work might mean speaking up about what support you need, asking for reasonable adjustments, or taking time out when your mental health needs care. We are sharing ways to advocate for yourself in the workplace, including how to explain the impact of MS, speak to your employer, and find support through occupational health. For support with MS, work, or your wellbeing, you can also contact the MS-UK Helpline on 0800 783 0518 or email [email protected]. Monday to Friday, 10am to 4pm. #MSUK #MultipleSclerosis #LivingWithMS #MSCommunity #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek #MSSupport #WorkplaceWellbeing

Do you experience difficulties with speech or swallowing as a result of MS? We are updating our Speech and swallowing Choices booklet and would like to hear from people living with MS about their experiences. Your answers could help us better understand how these symptoms affect everyday life, and may support others in the MS community who are looking for information, reassurance or shared experiences. The survey is short and gives you the chance to share what has helped you manage these symptoms. ๐Ÿ’œ Click the link in bio to take part. #MSUK #MultipleSclerosis #LivingWithMS #MSCommunity #MSSymptoms #SpeechAndSwallowing

Happy International Nurses Day. ๐Ÿ’œ Today we are celebrating the amazing MS nurses who support people living with MS and the wider MS community. MS nurses are often a key point of contact, offering trusted information, direct support, clinical advice, and reassurance when it is needed most. They also help connect people to the right services, including doctors, therapists, and other healthcare professionals. We are so grateful to the MS nurses who share their knowledge with MS-UK through many of our information sessions. Their insight helps us continue improving support for people living with MS. #InternationalNursesDay #MSNurses #MSUK #MultipleSclerosis #MSCommunity #LivingWithMS

Could mindfulness help with sleep in MS? ๐Ÿ’œ A new review of published studies found that mindfulness may help people living with MS spend more of their time in bed actually asleep. Sleep problems are common in MS, and poor sleep can affect symptoms, energy and daily life. Mindfulness may offer a calming way to support rest, helping people slow down, focus on the present moment and build a more settled routine. While more research is needed, this study adds to growing interest in how mindfulness may support wellbeing for people living with MS.
