Finally got everything ready to go last weekend. Some purple sprouting, garlic, mustards and kale left but otherwise the decks are cleared, the compost is spread and the stage is set. We also started sowing with spinach, onions, shallots and beetroot on the heatmat. #nodig

Made this Ash chair from scratch starting with logs and only using edge tools and a foot powered pole lathe. No sandpaper or electric tools allowed, only tea and cake power.
Good old cabbage greens. I probably use 50% of my growing space just for them and other brassicas all year round and it’s now harvest time for the biggest batch. It’s a good system: 1. Grow summer cabbage (takes about 3 months), 2. Harvest and take off the outer leaves, 3. Give these to the chickens who have a great time eating leaves and insects hiding in them and give us eggs, 4. After they’re done, turn into compost for next years cabbage, 5. Wrap clean cabbages in clingfilm, 6. Store in the fridge - they’ll easily last 6 months. Make kimchi, sauerkraut, eat in salads instead of dull old lettuce or just steamed... Cabbage is King 🥬👑 #cabbage #nodig
