Meet Jaime, founder of Mulberry Workshop 🛠️
In 2012, Jaime took a massive leap of faith. He packed a bag, grabbed his bicycle, and moved from Spain to the UK to learn English. Plot twist: He didn’t just learn the language, he built a whole life and a business.
While balancing hospitality shifts, Jaime earned his degree in Product Design Engineering from Liverpool John Moores University. He hit the ground running as a Mechanical Innovation Specialist for the LCR4 project at the University of Liverpool, where he supported businesses in adopting “Industry 4.0”—the world of smart technology and automated systems.
In 2020, because a global pandemic wasn’t quite dramatic enough, Jaime took another leap and launched Mulberry Workshop with the goal to translates that high-level expertise into tangible results: supporting companies and individuals with rapid prototyping, precision design, and bespoke manufacturing.
Five years on, Mulberry Workshop has gone from strength to strength. Jaime’s “clever-thinking” brain and creative approach are at the heart of every project. By bridging the gap between advanced engineering and a network of local businesses, he ensures every build is as efficient as it is exceptional.

Last summer, we had the pleasure of delivering a special project for the Liverpool FC retail space 🔴
We were commissioned to produce 50+ bespoke wall panels in lacquered birch plywood. Using our CNC machine, each panel was individually perforated with a peg board style design, ensuring a seamless flow across the entire fit-out.
Accuracy was the name of the game here. Every perforation had to align perfectly to create a clean, high-quality finish durable enough for a busy retail environment.
This project is a perfect example of how CNC precision meets thoughtful design 🛠️

Following an increase in new followers, we thought it would be a great time to re-introduce us and our machinery.
This is our trusted and cherished CNC router, the machine behind most of the things you’ll see on this page. Signage, wall installations, photoshoot sets, furniture components, engraving — if it’s been cut, routed or shaped, it’s come off this machine.
And in case you haven’t met him yet, this is Jaime, who runs it. Founder of Mulberry Workshop, Jaime is behind every project, every file set up, every tool selected, every cut dialled in — a man of many talents.

Behind the scenes of a photoshoot set we helped bring to life for the in-house set building team at @veryuk
The brief called for a full decorative set — arched alcoves, wall panelling, mouldings and shelving — which meant a lot of different components that needed to be cut and come together accurately.
We handled all the cutting on the CNC and the set building team took care of the assembly and painting. The result is the kind of backdrop that looks like it took months to build. In practice, it came down to having the right pieces ready for a quick assembly.

Tree cookies are one of those materials that make every piece unique — no two slices are ever the same shape or grain.
We were asked to engrave a set of tree cookie slices for a primary school garden in Liverpool; each one carrying a different quote, placed across the garden as a series of quiet, permanent markers.
The engraving was done on the CNC, working directly into the natural surface of each slice. Each one needed individual attention to get the text sitting right, and once engraved, the lettering was hand-filled with paint to make the words pop.
Small job. Nicely made.

A closer look into this project which was commissioned by @make.cic for @spenergynetworks and that we completed last summer.
This part of the project included this interactive game which challenged players to place puzzle pieces onto a circuit board map in the correct order; the pieces only illuminated simultaneously when everything was placed in the right order on the right spot. The timer board on the side tracked each player’s time, turning it into a competition as much as a learning tool.
Our role covered everything from design to cutting all the components on the CNC, assembling each element and wiring up the electronics that make the whole thing come alive. One of those projects that sits right at the intersection of making and problem-solving.

A couple of years ago, we were brought in by @n_h_interiors to help realise a wall installation they'd designed for the Beckers Group's Innovation Centre in Liverpool, featuring some of their coil-coated panels (typically used to clad buildings) as an interior feature.
We were supplied with the metal sheet panels by the customer and we laser cut these to a precise geometric design, mounted them on a sturdy MDF board and finished them with an oak edgeband.
The challenge wasn't just the cutting, mounting and prep work, but the installation. A tall, narrow staircase with limited access means no margin for error. Every panel had to land exactly right.
The result is something that stops you on the stairs and we couldn't be prouder.

From our CNC to your retail shop - watch us put together @allovertheshop_nw 's huge shop sign! All Over The Shop is a local concept store and creative space which hosts 50+ designers and makers, based in the @metquarter in Liverpool city centre.
The letters were cut from MDF on the CNC, then Jaime assembled the whole thing in the workshop before it headed out the door. Beth, from All Over The Shop, took it from there, painting and decorating the sign themselves to match their vision for the space.
There's something satisfying about watching a pile of freshly cut pieces become something that ends up inside a Liverpool city centre retail shop. This is what we're here for!

When the design is ready, precision cutting makes all the difference.
This client had already done the hard part; designing a full fitted cabinet system for their office space. What they needed was someone who could take those files and cut everything cleanly, consistently, and at a scale that made hand-cutting impractical.
That’s where we came in.
Every panel, drawer front and shelf was cut on the CNC from birch ply, ready for collection. The client then handled the installation themselves.
The finished result speaks for itself.

Projects like this are a great reminder that good collaborations make ideas bigger, brighter and much more fun!
Back in early 2024, @make.cic commissioned us (and many more talented makers and artists) to help create elements for a city-wide trail celebrating a certain global pop icon coming to Liverpool. The overall concept was playful, colourful and full of details; which meant a lot of shapes needed to be cut quickly, cleanly, consistently and ready for outdoor use.
For this specific project, we cut all the hearts, flamingos and rainbows on the CNC for the incredibly talented @quirkydesignco_ to work her magic with the paint and colour.
It’s always satisfying seeing something that started as flat sheets stacked in the workshop, become part of a public installation that thousands of people walk through and photograph.

Not every brief comes with a drawing. Sometimes it’s a conversation: “I need a floating shelf unit but I want it to look good and fit with the terrazzo theme interior.”
We built this floating shelf unit for a local hairdresser - birch ply, open-fronted, wall-mounted to keep the floor clear. We suggested getting the top made by a local terrazzo artist. The hairdryer hole is routed straight through the top so the hairdryer can hang there, ready for use and easy access.
