A vest that’s been quietly evolving for over a year.
It began with scraps of spandex rescued from studio waste, materials that would’ve otherwise been discarded. I hand-spun these fragments into yarn, testing patience as much as technique, experimenting across countless methods before finally landing on macramé.
The vest itself is made from a friend’s old dress. My friends constantly palm off clothes to me, and each garment carries a history that can’t be replicated. That’s what makes these pieces so unique: they hold time, collaboration, and a shared trust in transformation.

Titled TREACLE;mutations, my uni graduate collection explores the impermanence of identity. As a third culture kid, growing up in Hong Kong, I exist between places. Although my passport reads “Australian”, my sense of belonging is tied to the streets of HK. This dissonance between culture and identity forms the emotional foundation of my work.
