Nice Book Centre is located in Naalya, along the Kyaliwajjala-Naalya Road, after Oryx Energies. It is an intimate space that has a fully stocked book centre, gardens with different plants on sale, as well as an open space that can be used as a venue for meetings or yoga studio, as is usually the case on Saturday mornings. It has a wide range of collections from children’s books and African literature to biographies, classics, textbooks and even scholastic materials. A one stop centre for all your literary needs, it’s a hidden gem within a neighborhood that is easily accessible and with products that are quite affordable. So next time you’re in Naalya, stop by Nice Book Centre, you may find exactly what you’re looking for. #books #library #literature

Vincent Van Gogh was a Dutch post-impressionist painter whose work posthumously influenced figures in the history of Western Art. I came across him in Kasangati and decided to create this. #vangogh #art #painting #fyp #kampala

The Kampala Railway Station is one of those nostalgic places in the central business district. Built in the 1920s, the station has remained greatly unchanged since then. The addition of old tank wagons and defunct coaches offers a glimpse into a world that existed way before ours. The train system recently made a return and hosts trips every morning and evening to stations as far as Namanve and Mukono. The system is relatively cheaper and is not affected by traffic. However, more developed train technology needs to be incorporated into the railway system. Currently, the train also has only five coaches, which greatly limits the number of passengers per trip. An improvement on this, together with electric trains that hit top speeds of over 200km/hr, would open up the possibilities of this means of transport to further areas, such as upcountry towns. The construction of the standard gauge railway is a welcome development but besides the means of movement, even the means of carriage should be looked into, as a way of reducing on the traffic congestion in Kampala and providing an easier commute for Ugandans staying in towns that are further from the city centre. #railway #railwayphotography #train #standardgaugerailway #kampalacity
