To all my people out there who ever met him or heard about him, this is just to let you know that my father, Jerry Francis, passed away peacefully this past Sunday while in the loving embrace of his family. We are beyond grateful to everyone who showed him care and support.
He was a historian, preservationist and all around friendly neighborhood guy, but I have always thought of him as a Story Holder.
So wherever you are in this wide world, if you could kindly take a moment to send a prayer for his journey, sing a song to his memory, or turn to whoever is within the closest physical proximity to you to share a funny story about him, it would be much appreciated.
We will remember, praise and celebrate our good luck at having known him.
These hands were built for making beauty. Many thanks to the bearer of these hands for their strength, bright light and flexibility, and to the pile of red clay dirt that we have been sculpting into a building like a good clay pot
