꩜ introducing our vendors for the 2026 spring spiral market ꩜ meet em of @muddyslug 🌀 I am an artist and ecologist living in Bakersville, NC. I make wood-fired ceramics, hand-dip beeswax candles, and practice land stewardship. Each pair of candles starts as a single cotton wick, dipped repeatedly in beeswax up to 30 times. My practice honors a global folk tradition and ancestral relationship to bees. Beeswax candles offer a warm glow, tell time, and emit a natural honey scent. I hand-build and wood fire ceramics; both slow but storied ways of making pottery. I make vessels for light and altars for meaningful collections. Informed by my background in ecology, my work reflects rhythms and patterns observed in wilderness. My practice centers on connection to place, presence, and repetition. The result is an invitation for you to open a doorway to yourself. 🌀 come meet em and all of our other amazing vendors at spiral market ~ may 1st • 4 - 9 pm @huzzahbooks @parallelbrewco #boonenc #highcountrync #exploreboone #madeinnc #smallbatchmovement

We have just two spots left in our upcoming candle making and candlestick decorating workshop on April 18th! Participants will learn to make dipped beeswax candles from @muddyslug , and will get to make multiple pairs to bring home. We’ll learn different dipping, carving, and sculpting techniques. After lunch, everyone will have the chance to carve and decorate a pair of ceramic candlesticks, which we’ll then fire and return to participants a couple weeks later. Link to register in bio. Hope to see you there! #candlemaking #beeswax #dippedcandle #candlestick #durham

We’re so excited to be hosting @muddyslug for a candle making workshop on April 18th! During the workshop, you’ll learn to make beeswax candles, and dip multiple pairs to bring home. Then, you’ll get to decorate clay candlesticks, which we’ll then fire for you! It should be a great time. Link in bio to register. #beeswaxcandles #candlemaking #durham #beeswax #candle

good day for a wood day. replenishing wood with @muddyslug from our january firing with @rosemakespots ❤️‍🔥 we loaded up my truck on this beautiful 70 degree day with sawmill offcuts that would have otherwise gone to the burn pile.

My webshop is live! The link is in my bio. I’ve got bundles of beeswax candles to get you through the rest of winter. This batch has been a joy to make. I was about to go loopy with cabin fever until the ice thawed and I got to dip again in my studio. Thanks for checking out my website and shopping. This month, I am donating 15% of online sales to El Pueblo’s mutual aid fund based in Raleigh, NC. “This mutual aid fund seeks to provide some relief to the families of victims of these abusive operations by federal immigration agents in Wake County, as well as to support them during these times of crisis,” said Martha Hernández, a member of the Wake Resiste steering committee. Local pals, I’ll be selling these candles at @gatherartmarket in Burnsville, NC, next Saturday, 2/14. Come visit and bring your honey! 💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛

Candlegaze with me ✨ 2025 has been an intensely transformative year for me. I found the strength to shed layers, leaned back into a trust fall, and was caught by an elaborately beautiful web. I’m feeling giddy for 2026, year of the horse. I’m ready to run forth, wild and free! This altar was made with @starworksceramics New Seagrove clay and fired in @potteronthefarm wood-salt kiln. There’s no better place to arrange in my altars than at the lake that inspired them. Thank you to my mom and sisters for combing the beach with me on a nippy day. Sending love to you and yours 💛💛💛

Since moving to the mountains and shifting my studio practice, I’ve found a lot of comfort in making vessels for light and reflection. Creating a simple opportunity for joy. Lighting a candle just to celebrate being alive. Applying a balm to the wounded heart. I’ll be back in the Triangle next weekend to share my new work with you 💛 I will have wall altars, candleholders, and beeswax candles galore! ✨Night Market at Feature Flora ~ Friday, December 5, 6-9 pm, 612 W South St, Raleigh, NC ✨ Winter Studio Sale at Flagmountain Studio ~ Saturday, December 6, 11-4 pm, 419 W King St, Hillsborough, NC
