Wonderwhy Magazine Issue 2: Childfree Neighbor—cover shot by yours truly 🥹 This cover means so much to me for so many reasons. A year ago, I started taking still life photos at home in the middle of the night—no client, no brief, just whenever I felt like it, using whatever objects were within my reach. Shot on my desk or kitchen table with minimal lighting (mostly my trusty IKEA desk lamp… which I just found out has been discontinued?!). It wasn’t part of a routine or an attempt to push myself out of my comfort zone—just something I found oddly meditative. I guess the rush of trying to be quiet so I wouldn’t wake my mom up really pushed my creativity haha. And somehow, that same approach led to my first-ever magazine cover, soon to be distributed far and wide. My toothbrushes are about to travel farther than I ever have 🥹 A huge thank you to @wonderwhysea and its incredible team—@monmon_cs @hanairena @dnielchia @calvinmaksim and more—for trusting me with this vision. At first glance, it’s just a photo of two toothbrushes against a red background. But beneath that, it reflects shifting perspectives in a family-oriented society. Forever grateful for this opportunity, and I hope this issue resonates with many 💡✨ #Wonderwhy #WonderwhySEA

Throwback to some of my favorite shots from Ubud Writers & Readers Festival 2023 🍃 #UWRF It was my very first volunteering opportunity as a photographer after university, so I was both excited and nervous about how it would go. But it turned out to be an incredibly rewarding experience ✨

You must break a little to let the light in; and through every fracture, the light finds its way out. In the dance of light and shadow, brokenness becomes a story. And from brokenness.. freedom takes flight 🌄

Since I was a kid, my mom would occasionally leave a tomato snack in the fridge overnight for me to enjoy the next day. Just tomatoes cut in quarters, some sugar, and cold water.. plain and simple ✨ I remember one time in elementary school I refused to eat it, but she told me tomatoes were good for your skin, so I obeyed. Guess it counts as my earliest skincare routine? 😂

I might not see Putti and Bimo as much as I want to, due to distance and all, so we don’t have as many precious moments to recall. But if I were to recall anything, there are 2 moments that come to mind: the first one is the three of us in Putti’s studio. It was around June 2025, conversations flowing here and there, slightly tipsy from the second round of cocktails from the event, wanting to recharge our social batteries while listening to Lorde’s Solar Power on vinyl. Somehow the audio wasn’t connected to the speaker, and it took a while to fix. It’s funny because I barely remember what we talked about that night, but I remember it felt comfortable, the kind of comfort that asks for nothing. The second one is of course the wedding, which I had the honor to attend and document. Such a beautiful celebration, and I’ll let my photos do the talking. P&B, thank you for letting me into your world. It’s a warm place with occasional bursts of colors and excitement, but it’s mostly calm and steady (this is a metaphor and you can guess which one is which lol). I’m so excited to discover more of it as the years go by. And thank you for showing me a love that is effortless — even though, I’m sure, it takes a lot of effort to be so 💛

Second year “freestyling” with @sofiagozali 🤍💛 No pre-planned concept, just responding to the situation, using objects we found on the spot and along the way (including a living snail lol)

Saw a pack of asparagus at the supermarket, and suddenly I was a kid again, trying asparagus soup for the first time at this sketchy Chinese food restaurant near my old childhood house. 🤤 Shall we go eat sum Chinese food?? #StillLife

Collected colors from the neighborhood over the past two years~ (Kinda miss the time when all we could post on Instagram were square photos 😂)

Translating Glodok is a new program by MET Glodok that invites creatives to interpret Glodok’s through different medium and sensory approaches, gathering new ways of seeing, recording, and understanding the neighbourhood. For its first edition, 𝗩𝗼𝗹. 𝟬𝟭: 𝗦𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁, photographers @mud.it , @jesscandradi , and @ireneinsan will lead a series of mentor-guided photo walks through the neighbourhood. Each session concludes with a curation and sharing session at MET Glodok, where selected images from the walk are compiled into a black-and-white risograph postcard set for participants to take home. Through this workshop, we invite you to encounter and read Glodok anew—not simply as a place to photograph, but as a living text where fragments of space, everyday life, and memory are brought together through images and shared reflection.
