Ep. 3: Days 8-10. Is this the light at the end of the tunnel? After some lonely days in the saddle, friends and family start to arrive and it feels like we can see the peak of the project.
With over 450km covered so far, Storm Amy greeted us for day 10 and 4,200ft of elevation stood in the way of us and the finish line. We almost started enjoying it again. An adventure through the Irish mountains and an epic build up for a big finish on day 11. Can taste the Beamish already.
Just one more ultra to go.
Day 5. 52km. Total 254km.
Starting to get interesting now beys. Tough day in the office for me ( @lewisnewbould ) and my screaming shin. Unreal views through the fields of Longford but spent most of it looking at the ground lol. Decided I wanted a win from the day so we added on an extra 2k to hit 52k. Lords of SLOGtown. Great work from the crew to pull out some top tier mobile aid stations and tunes @barney_w_jones@callumearnshaw . First ever back to back ultra days for @lewiskcullum too. Baaaash.
See you tomorrow for the halfway point. Videos coming sooon too.
One year of Mud.Cutters.
We didnât start with a masterplan. Just a rough idea of what we wanted life to look like and the type of things we wanted to make. So we cracked on and figured it out as we went.
From Coast to Coast across Devon to Head to Head in Ireland we somehow pulled off some pretty mental projects in year one. A lot of miles, a lot of graft, and plenty of chaos along the way. Exactly how we like it.
Somewhere in the middle of all that we started to realise what mud.cutters actually is. Not just running. Not just films. Just building a life where discipline and disorder sit side by side.
This video is a bit of a time capsule of that first year. The miles, the missions, the people who jumped in and helped make it real.
Big love to everyone whoâs been part of it so far.
The mates. The creatives. The brands backing it.
You know who you are.
Year one was discovery.
Year two⌠we push it further

First test on Aussie dirt. Safe to say it wonât be the last. We headed for the Glass House Mountains for 19k across 3 peaks at 900m gains.
Two poms wandering into the bush thinking itâd be just another run in some hills. Turns out Queensland heat is a different game.
But thatâs the whole point of it. New terrain. New challenges. Figuring it out as we go.
First run in the bush. Plenty more to come. Where should we hit next?
Growing down under.
The last decade we were grafting away. Jobs, projects, city life, the whole thing. Good innings. Along the way we ran the length of Ireland, which reminded us weâre better off outside than in an office.
So weâve rolled it back. Back to the coastal roots we grew up on. Salt in the air, trails under the feet, long feral days outside.
Australia felt like the right playground. Endless coast, endless miles, plenty of room to cause a bit of trouble.
Swinging life back to the zero responsibility era we grew up on.
Expect more running, more adventure and a lot more salt.
