The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB), led by Chairperson and CEO Lala Sotto, conducted its Responsableng Panonood (RP) Program on May 12, 2026, at the Casimiro A. Ynares Sr. Auditorium in Binangonan, Rizal. The seminar gathered students and teachers from the University of Rizal System, guardians, and local government representatives from the Municipality of Binangonan to promote responsible and mindful media consumption in todayโs rapidly evolving digital landscape.
The activity was conducted in partnership with the Province of Rizal and the Municipality of Binangonan, with the full support of Rizalโs 1st District Representative, Hon. Rebecca Maria Ynares, who invited the MTRCB to bring the RP Program to Rizal in response to the growing prevalence of unsafe and harmful media content online. The Board was also warmly welcomed by Binangonan City Mayor, Hon. Ma. Elvira Cecille Ynares, who expressed her support for initiatives that empower communities to become more discerning and responsible consumers of media.
In her opening remarks, Chairperson Sotto emphasized the significance of responsible media engagement among the youth, stating that โthe media we watch shapes our thoughts, influences our emotions, and ultimately defines who we become.โ She likewise encouraged participants to become role models of responsible screen use within their homes and communities, underscoring that media literacy and awareness begin at the grassroots level.
The program proper featured discussions from MTRCB Board Members Atty. Ricardo "Jojo" Salomon, Jr., Atty. Pedro Cesar Gabriel Solidum, Sarah-Ingrid Aurelia Sia, Katrina Angela Ebarle, and Jose "Joey" Alberto V, who discussed the mandate of the MTRCB, the Boardโs rating and classification system, and the PROTECT framework under the Responsableng Panonood campaign. The seminar concluded with a special performance led by Board Member Richard Reynoso.
MTRCB Chairperson and CEO Lala Sotto took part in the Cinema Exhibitorsโ Association of the Philippines (CEAP) Cine Expo 2026 yesterday, May 12, at Gateway 2 Cineplex.
In her message before cinema operators, distributors, and industry stakeholders, Chair Lala reaffirmed the Boardโs commitment to promoting โResponsableng Panonoodโ through stronger collaboration within the Philippine cinema industry.
She emphasized that responsible viewing is a shared responsibility among regulators, exhibitors, producers, and distributors โ all working together to ensure that Filipino audiences continue to enjoy films in a safe, informed, and family-oriented environment.
The MTRCB thanks the Cinema Exhibitors Association of the Philippines (CEAP) for bringing together industry partners in support of a stronger and more responsible moviegoing culture.

The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) met with CreaZion Studios for a consultative discussion on the Philippine adaptation of The Good Doctor, reaffirming the importance of responsible storytelling aligned with broadcast standards.
The meeting was led by Chairperson and CEO Lala Sotto, together with Board Members Eloisa Matias, Ricardo Salomon Jr., and Atty. Pedro Cesar Gabriel Solidum.
BM Matias, Co-Chairperson of the Ratings Committee, provided an in-depth discussion on the MTRCBโs classification guidelines, while BM Solidum, member of the Adjudication Committee, discussed the legal framework guiding the Boardโs mandate.
Representing CreaZion Studios were President and CEO Anter "RJ" San Agustin, EVP/CCO Real Florido, Director Derrick Cabrido, Creative Executive Rona Co, Program Manager Winnie Holis, Program Consultant Winnie Reyes, and Cameron Odsey Jr.

Presented before the Board was the Agency Accomplishment Report, reflecting continued gains in financial efficiency, commendable compliance rates, and revenue collections surpassing established targets. Measures to further improve case resolution timelines were likewise discussed.
The Board also approved ratified personnel appointments through a Board Resolution, in support of a stronger and more responsive organization.
