25 years ago, Halfpipe was the discipline.
Then slowly, Superpipes came along and changed the game completely. For a few, it opened new doors — but for many, it quietly marked the end of pipe riding. Bigger walls, more speed, higher risk… so slopestyle was getting more popular and ski resorts stopped building pipes because building superpipes wasn’t an easy task.
Now things are coming full circle.
Big shoutout to Stefan Plattner and the
@mtnpoolcom &
@betterparkhintertux crew for bringing a fresh vision back to the pipe.
The concept: take all the knowledge from years of building Superpipes and shape it into something more accessible — the FunPIPE.
With its round bottom and longer transition, it’s:
• safer to ride
• smoother in flow
• perfect for beginners and anyone rediscovering pipe riding.
Last weekend at the
@funpipespirit Opening, I put together a small edit — not about the biggest tricks, but about what really matters:
fun, flow, and good vibes.
Big thanks and everyone involved , this is an important move for our Sport. 🙌
