LINK IN BIO A status update was posted recently: Straight Edge has now been registered as a trademark in Japan. We need to file an opposition and have it revoked. Putting a label on a way of life, monopolizing it, and turning it into profit — then mocking the people who push back against it. Straight Edge was never meant to belong to people like that. Compared to everything happening in the world, maybe this seems small. But sometimes small things become part of something much bigger that eventually reaches your own life. You never really know how things connect. If you agree with this, please sign. And please help spread the word. This isn’t about whether you’re Straight Edge or not. Standing up against something unjust is simply part of being human.

The new album from Captain Jazz, arriving three years after their absolutely mind-blowing last release. This time they take a bold step by leaning heavily into vocals and melody, diving deep into emo territory—and that contrast only makes their trademark top-tier skramz passages hit even harder. Lyrically, the album builds a cinematic world centered around the theme of “The Product,” drenched in cynicism with a subtle undercurrent of madness running through it. No gimmicks here—they’ve clearly got the talent to back it all up. /album/the-product?mvp=p

Sweden’s xserenityx. At its core, they deliver a massive metalcore sound built around breakdown-heavy songwriting that recalls bands like Balmora, Undying, and State Craft. But there are also moments that channel the same blend of melancholy and extremity found in fellow Swedes At The Gates—one of the roots that helped shape this style in the first place. The more I listen, the more depth and layers I find in it. /album/no-one-waits-when-youre-in-disguise

St. Louis’ VOLITION returns with a new release following last year’s EP. Instead of leaning into the more melodic side of the post-Magnitude wave of sXe hardcore in the vein of Broken Vow and others, they double down on sheer heaviness and raw intensity—and it absolutely crushes. Pure, riff-driven force from start to finish. And that Floorpunch cover at the end? It lands with real impact, making you think: so this is how one of their roots converges with the present day. It feels completely earned and surprisingly convincing. /album/resolution-counterfeit-paradise

The debut release from The Last Word out of Rochester, NY. It pushes the brutality and chaos of the pre–early-2000s metalcore boom era even further, channeling the spirit of Tribunal Records bands like Nientara and the world around Plague By Child and Nehemiah. The result is the kind of sound that hits with an overwhelming surge of both evil and holy energy at the same time — the sort of record that leaves you staring into space thinking, “Are you serious…?” Absolutely devastating and intensely powerful. /album/the-last-word

The new release from Colorado’s TIME X HEIST, a band that’s risen to the forefront of modern straight edge hardcore. They’ve evolved into something that feels like Turn It Around-era Comeback Kid injected with the strength and punch of TEN YARD FIGHT, yet the youth crew foundation is still fully intact, so it never comes across as a stylistic detour or loss of identity. /album/the-measure-of-my-devotion

The new EP from Indonesia’s Day Of Salvation, their first release in two years. They were already delivering high-quality FURY / Edge Metal-inspired hardcore, but this time they’ve taken the core elements they already had — single-note riffs, breakdowns, and the essentials of their style — and pushed them to their fullest potential. The result expands the possibilities of their sound without sacrificing its purity or identity. The artwork is great too. /playlist?list=OLAK5uy_kUQM3BcbE-EpgpQTih0fNAiekXLkT_TCc&si=o2yB8KcZaFx27WFi

From Bryansk, Russia, GIANT STEPS deliver a sound that blends late-’90s Positive Youth hardcore in the vein of ATARI and GOOD CLEAN FUN with early-2000s influences reminiscent of STAY GOLD. Lyrically, they deal with themes that have always been central to hardcore, but given the harsh social realities and the environment they come from, there’s a deeper weight behind it all — a desperate urgency, a sense of fighting simply to survive. /album/heart-in-hardcore

Boston’s RISK are back with a new release via BBB. Their sound carries the BHC ethos of Blood For Blood and Death Before Dishonor deep in its DNA, then hardens and reinforces it for a modern era. The metallic guitar approach hits hard, but what really seals the deal is the drum production — aggressively punchy and constantly pushing to the front of the mix. That unapologetically hardcore feel is absolutely irresistible. /album/forever-2

Hanover’s ETERNAL ENEMY demo is packed with crushing riff work, catchy and moshable parts, and compact, aggressive songwriting. Maybe this is just my own ignorance speaking, but for a German band, it feels surprisingly close to that hardcore-leaning NYDM/brutal death style associated with Skinless, the more recent era of Internal Bleeding, or Fatal Realm. /playlist?list=OLAK5uy_lRoOns5lxF1oAWwyAoZWtPjgiOU0dApXU&si=CfDTiqDBl06WCQwD

TOLLS from Oregon. Their self-described “Northwest Desperation” sound feels like taking Catharsis and dragging it through the emotional weight of Counterparts — a crushing collision of heaviness and sadness that completely sinks you into endless despair. They’ve been releasing music since 2018, so they’re hardly newcomers at this point, but everything they’ve been building toward finally erupts here. A total transformation, and they absolutely nailed it /album/bleeding-nectar

Belgium’s Blood Redemption released this in 2007. At first I assumed they were just another younger H8000-related band, so it was genuinely surprising to find out the members came from veteran acts like Spirit Of Youth, Solid, and Legion. Instead of leaning fully into classic Belgian hardcore, they moved much closer to the US-style metalcore rooted in hardcore that bands like Killswitch Engage were pushing at the time, and the level of songwriting and execution absolutely holds up alongside those records. A classic album. /playlist?list=PLYlCDukrlIZ3br22JyJJoUa-zLIPjo6y6&si=n0-eT3jzarPvSRm9
