More than 100 scholars, organizations, and alums were celebrated at the annual Leadership and Service Awards on April 29, 2026. Mount Holyoke College students are scholars and leaders who are active in the community and unstoppable in their work. This ceremony honors their dedication to their community and each other. “Over the last few years, I’ve seen you in your leadership, rising in your leadership, working in your leadership,” President Danielle R. Holley said. “We have to lead with our values, to gather all the information that we can and make the best decisions to advance the values that you share with your organization or your family, whatever you are leading. It’s impossible to be a leader without a guiding set of values.” Read the full list of winners on our website.

Hands-on learning meets creativity! At our first Quantitative Innovation Center (QIC) event, students led a slime-making workshop that brought together participants across class years and disciplines to explore unit conversion, build wet-lab skills and make new connections. Designed and run by Josie Capps '27 and Blessing Gyasi '29, this workshop reflects a shared goal: creating space for everyone to engage with quantitative thinking and learn from one another.

For Sehaam Tahir ’29, observing Ramadan at Mount Holyoke showed her that gratitude and community can exist even far from home. Thanks to the efforts of Dining Services and the Muslim Student Association, her first Ramadan away from home reminded her that community can take shape in many forms — even in a dining hall filled with friends, sharing a baklava or puff puff after sunset. Read her full community spotlight at the link in bio!
