We are thrilled to announce the publication of our latest project, The Treehouse, a stunning ground-up build designed around a magnificent 140-year-old Redwood tree!
Crafted with care by us at MT Higgins Construction, this extraordinary home showcases the perfect blend of innovative design and respect for nature. With the expertise of acclaimed architect Dennis Greenbaum, who brings over 40 years of experience, we’ve transformed a vision into a breathtaking reality.
A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful clients, Theodore and Paige Marentis, and their delightful daughter Sofia. Their vision and trust have made this project an incredible journey, highlighting the beauty of nature while creating a warm family space.

With a home of this scale, what's often most powerful is what is left behind, leaving space for the craftsmanship of each detail to speak for itself. We approached the primary bathroom as a composition rather than a room to fill—intentionally layering materials and fixtures that elevate, not distract. A matte resin vanity quietly juxtaposed alongside oversized fluted wall panels. A backsplash of @icgitaliaporcelain tiles paired with oversized @cerno_group lighting. Luminous marble that comes alive in private, natural light.

A whiskey bar moment worth lingering over ✨
This custom tambour island steals the show, featuring hidden pop-out doors seamlessly integrated into the tambour, completely invisible to the naked eye. Topped with a custom-carved stainless steel countertop, it’s both sculptural and functional.
Behind it, custom cabinetry with floating glass shelves is elevated by a solid brass backer, softly backlit to highlight the whiskey collection and curated décor. The rich textured wallpaper adds warmth and depth, while the statement linear light fixture floats above, casting a refined glow that ties everything together.
