The Ministry of Tourism & Civil Aviation, in partnership with Rosie Travel Academy and Tourism Fiji, delivered a two-day Tour Guide Training in Savusavu, upskilling 40 guides from Vanua Levu & Taveuni. The sessions strengthened storytelling, safety, leadership, and service excellence — ensuring every guide represents Fiji with pride and professionalism. Guest speaker James Sowane of Tewaka inspired participants to “aim high and be proud of representing your community and your country.” Together, partners continue to build local talent under the National Sustainable Tourism Framework 2024–2034, shaping the next generation of tourism ambassadors.

Aviation market and demand analysis ii. Site selection and conceptual airport master planning iii. Environmental and social screening iv. Engineering investigations and preliminary design concepts v. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism & Civil Aviation, Hon. Viliame Gavoka, has begun the Lau Tourism Scoping Mission with field visits on Moala Island. A multi-agency team—including UN partners, iTaukei institutions, Fiji Navy, PWD, Conservation International, and MTCA officials—joined the mission. The delegation visited Naroi Village, inspected the Moala Airstrip, and held consultations in Keteira and Cokova. The renowned Cokova game-fishing reef was identified as a high-value tourism asset.
