In a world where technology and nature constantly collide, "Dark Loops" by @margaret.noble invites us into a space where that boundary blurs. Part of the "Blurred Realities" exhibition open at the MSU Museum now through July 18, 2026
May is National Photography Month, and we are looking back at a few of our favorite moments since reopening the MSU Museum.
These images capture more than what’s on view. They reflect a major transformation, with essential infrastructure upgrades designed to protect collections and prepare the Museum for the next generation of exhibitions.
As we continue to reimagine our galleries, we are excited to share some highlights! #nationalphotographymonth
Planning your next visit to the MSU Museum?
We are free and open to the public Tuesday - Saturday 10AM - 5PM, with rotating exhibitions that explore the intersections of art, science, culture, and technology.
It's #NationalPetMonth and we're showing off some of the furry critters that reside with our MSU Museum staff! Share your pets in the comments as we celebrate our beloved pets!
It’s #MammothMonday!
Our Mammoth fossil is a reminder of the MSU Museum’s long history of connecting people to the natural world.
Recent upgrades ensure we can properly care for our collection while creating new experiences that bring together the arts, sciences, cultures, and technologies to explore the issues of our time.
"Spin the Story" is a unique part of the "Blurred Realities" exhibition hosted online through the Bloomberg Connects app. Using a fun, mad-libs-style approach, "Spin the Story" walks users through click-bait and propaganda, raising important questions about our role in sharing mis/disinformation. This exhibit was created by two former CoLaborators, Kelsey Swanson and Laith Miller!
Watch the full video and spin your own story on our Bloomberg Connects app (link in bio) or at spinthestory.net!
At the MSU Museum, we are committed to breaking down physical, financial, and cultural barriers so everyone can explore, create, and connect.
Through accessible design, free admission, and inclusive experiences, we are working to ensure the Museum is a space for all.
Habitat Hall now features not only an audio experience with RFID technology that provides detailed descriptions, but also a tactile map with braille!
#NationalBarrierAwarenessDay
As part of the Museum’s recent transformation, Science On a Sphere® represents a long-term exhibition commitment to immersive, data-driven storytelling.
But like the Museum itself, it’s not static, with new content, collaborations, and ideas continuing to shape what you see when you visit!

"Ile Omi: House of Water" envisions a futuristic underwater society descended from African souls lost during the transatlantic slave voyages. This projection-mapped exhibit uses immersive underwater environment sounds and sights to create a speculative narrative honoring the resilience, creativity, and survival of those excluded from dominant historical narratives. A blend of traditional film-making and an artificial intelligence model trained exclusively on works donated with artist consent, "Ile Omi: House of Water" creates an experience that is grounded both in ancestral heritage and alternative futures. Part of the "Blurred Realities" exhibition now on view at the MSU Museum. @mz.icar

The MSU Museum launched a new Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID)-enabled accessibility system in Habitat Hall on Friday, April 24, 2026. This innovative technology delivers audio descriptions as visitors moved through the gallery, offering an inclusive experience designed for those who are blind or have low vision, while enriching engagement for all.
