We live in an attention economy. Along with the infinite bad actors fighting for our time and our money, there are a similarly endless number of altruistic causes desperate for and deserving of our support. So it feels pretty f*cking weird to throw myself into the mix of voices asking you to listen. But I hope that for someone who does take the time to listen, this song isn’t more noise and instead it offers some hope, some comfort, some solidarity. My other goal is to draw attention to the inequality within the voices being heard most (and paid most). Sexism is rampant in this world, the music industry is no exception. So I made you a playlist of some women I listen to who continue to inspire and educate me through their art.
