Oh Chris. I took this picture of you in March of 2019. We were laughing so hard that every picture I took ended up blurry. Which sucked because we were taking them in portrait mode for the album cover for your new music career as Lil Ole Ballz. You had come out of a particularly dark period in your life, so seeing you laugh felt like winning the lottery.
You were warm and kind and generous and fair. You took care of everyone and everything. You made sure no one ever felt alone. You always showed up. So much so that I’m in a state of denial that you’re not just going to show up again. You loved your people so hard and we all loved you back. I love you and miss you my beautiful friend. Rest In Peace.
This is sort of how I will always remember you. Surrounded by admirers, perfectly tailored and accessorized, handsome with an ironic scowl that belied what a good time you were always having. There were generations between us, but I am grateful to have learned from you and that you were my Dad. Happy Father’s Day to all the great Dads out there.

#challengeaccepted I know it’s supposed to be me alone, but if it’s women supporting women, I want my women with me. I am also blessed with so many rad women in my life, I couldn’t fit them all in. I guess that’s why it was supposed to be me alone...I love you all so much. Women rule. ♥️
