Last month, I set up a chair in our living room in central North Carolina and asked a handful of community members and fans to come sit in it. I pressed play on a song that wasn't out yet. I filmed their faces. That was the whole shoot.
I directed it (first time ever)! I had no idea what I was doing, and also somehow knew exactly what I was doing; it was like that. Some folks moved freely with their whole bodies. Some had entire worlds happening just in their eyes. Tori and Violet, the youngest of the bunch, taught me things I'm still thinking about.

I started this song from the place where the grief, the frustration, and the righteous anger. And somewhere underneath all of it, something kept pulling me forward. The belief that we are here for a reason. That unprecedented doesn't have to mean doom. That being human, right now, in this mess, has to be a gift.
This song is me trying to find that gift. Not by looking away from the pain but by going straight through it. With honesty, with each other, with the courage we didn't know we had until we needed it. The music video drops 5.22. 🤍
