She was giving side-eye, and she was the most beautiful color and had the cutest tail I’d ever seen. I also fell in love with the description of her which said she loves cuddling and will snuggle right up to you and loves belly loves (all very true!) I adore her and all my friends love her too so she has many aunts and uncles in her life. I’ve never met a sweeter, funnier, sillier pup and I’m feel so lucky she’s mine. You were impossibly handsome, but it was so much more than that. The night we met was the first time you proposed to me and I, of course, said yes, yes, yes. I never got into that cab and we went on an adventure that never stopped. I picked lilacs for you and you kept them in your jacket pocket until the petals turned brown and they fell apart. I never stopped looking at you the way I am looking at you in this picture, even in the hardest times. You were funny. And so silly. Kind. My Deekers. You were so romantic it made me dizzy. You wrote me songs and love letters and I rode on the back of your bike in Brooklyn—a boombox playing in the basket. Our wedding was the stuff of legends. I will always be grateful that you were a part of my life, my love. I look for you in places you can’t possibly be. You were my whole heart. I love you forever.
