Lock in with @leowh1tehouse on msg4000 tonight.
Leo is a Chinese British artist, DJ, and clothing designer currently based in Sydney. His work is driven by the structures and systems that dictate our contemporary world. He channels a dissatisfaction with the socio-cultural effects of the 21st century through industrial, breakbeat and deconstructed club beats - expressions of a lost modern age. The internet and urban space emerge within this vacuum as new visual signifiers of identity, pronounced by throwback pop tracks - distorted and mashed until they can barely be recognized. References to Blade runner, Lynch and transformers set the tone for apathetic mixes birthed in an age of cyber discontent.

Expect an hour of music pulled from the sonic tapestry of Taiwan and other pockets of the Asian diaspora – gear-shifting from leftfield club selections to Mandopop; industrial rhythms accelerating into Taoist temple recordings. The mix is an ode to club nights in Taipei and the energy of the city, styled in the manner of Taiwanese cinema classics like ‘Rebels of a Neon God.’

Tonight on msg4000, we’re on the edge of a new bloom with Blood Lotus in the studio ~
Blood Lotus is the music project of Hannah Wu, who fuses club, experimental R&B, avant-garde
pop and traditional Chinese instruments to push the sonic parameters of genre. She constructs
spectral worlds where the past and future collide in motion; intimate vocals flutter over shapeshifting beats, scaffolded by oscillating synths and glistening strings. With a focus on
collaboration, she has worked with Voidhood and Kuya Neil to produce her debut album, slated
to be released in 2026. She also makes ambient music in collaboration with poet Panda Wong,
under the moniker Lotus Threads, as well as their extended project, Lotus Web.
