Many people know that I’ve quietly worked behind the scenes for years — styling, creative directing, producing concepts, and helping bring visions to life.
But during T-Kea’s journey to Nationals, she trusted me fully with styling and creative direction for her competition looks. And somewhere along the way, this idea for Fashionista got stuck in my head: a blooming flower goddess.
At first, I searched for pieces that captured the vision I saw in my mind. But nothing felt right. Nothing felt big enough. So for the first time, instead of continuing to search for the vision… I decided to create it.
What started as a sketch became one of the most creatively fulfilling projects I’ve worked on in a long time.
There were hours of designing, sourcing, revising, hand-placing florals, figuring things out as we went, and pushing myself creatively in ways I hadn’t before. And honestly, it reminded me how much I love this side of artistry — the storytelling, the world-building, the transformation of an idea into something tangible.
Thank you, T-Kea, for trusting me completely and allowing me to bring this concept to life on you. Watching something begin as a thought, move through sketches and construction, hit the stage… and then win Fashionista at Nationals was such a full-circle moment.
This was more than a winning look for me.
It was confirmation that I should keep creating.
