Thaipusam 2026 - Final Instalment
My main takeaways,
- Everyone left behind their worries and problems they had in life for a few hours for focused devotion and steps to betterment.
- They didn’t care who was or wasn’t looking at them, they forgot themselves and just fully participated in their own journey. Dancing, jumping to the traditional rhythms with full focus.
- I thank everyone who allowed to be so close to them and invade their personal space.🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
My observations in Color of Thaipusam 2026.
1. Showcased everyone still has space to stand out and grow individually here while still going for a common goal to fulfill their devotion.
2. The next gen Kavadi bearers had creatively incorporated tech and new design elements. There were color changing LEDs and non traditional materials used to decorate their Kavadis.
My thoughts and pictures of Thaipusam 2026.
1. The journey of Devotion and Penance to Lord Murugan isn’t done alone. You need your loved ones, family and friends support every step of the 4km route. Just like in everyday life, no matter how heavy the load is.
2. Was happy to see the next generation young ones carrying Milk Pots, Kavadis and playing Indian traditional music instruments, keeping up with traditions
3. Kudos to all the different organisations involved, putting together such a big event. It was very well done and smoothly executed.
