Visit me… well, my portrait that is, on the High Line in NYC. 🏙️✨
While I don’t know it for a fact, I just know it’s true: somehow a mural depicting a version of a younger Me was painted years ago on a smokestack of a building near 23rd Street on the west side of the High Line Park.
When I saw the painting for the first time, it stopped me in my tracks. My mind instantly catapulted back to a moment in history captured in a photo from Germany in the late 80s—a night with my friend Anke at a dance party we hosted.
The connection is deep and entirely unexplainable. Why is there a portrait with such a strong resemblance and invisible connection to me on the High Line? Who is the artist and who is “Young Veezy”? Maybe “someone somewhere this summertime” will come forward and solve this mystery.
In the meantime, don’t waste time—check out this (my) portrait soon. It’s NYC, after all, and almost everything here changes in a New York minute.
