Today, we remember Mississippi Arts + Entertainment Hall of Fame inductee Robert Johnson, born on this day in Hazlehurst, Mississippi. In just two recording sessions, Johnson laid down 29 songs that became the foundation of his career. His life is steeped in mystery, including the enduring legend of the crossroads at Highways 49 and 61. Decades after his death in 1938, his music found new audiences, earning a Grammy-winning reissue and securing his place among the greatest guitarists in history.
