Today I read that a 24 year old woman cancer patient in a Guangdong hospital ordered food delivery and paid the delivery guy to sit with her for 2 hours. Yep. The isolation levels in our culture is off the Richter scale.
No amount of retail therapy, food, Netflix, wellness programs, working alone can alleviate the lack of genuine human connection and care.
What do you do when you are aware of news like this?
I go out there, no matter where, to connect with people. It’s okay if they ignore me, it’s okay if they avoid my gaze, it’s in my DNA to keep connecting with people. It’s okay if there is no response, but every hello said, they have felt it, and it will be there somewhere in their body.
I deeply love people and no amount of rejection will stop me. 🥰
