Join ADD X MSSA Nexus (Materials, Technologies and Systems Subgroup) for a hands-on, 90-minute digital fabrication workshop, with a focus on 3D printing using natural filament materials! (including wood 3D printing!)
This workshop will cover an introduction to digital fabrication strategies for modelmaking, an instructive tour of the printers in the MTC Makerspace, a guide on natural and alternative filament materials, a practical tutorial on how to set up your models for 3D printing (with Bambu Studio slicer), as well as a clear foundation for producing strong, well-resolved physical models, ideal for end-of-year exhibition!
Bonus, those who stay until the end will receive a free 3D printed keychain from ADD x MSSA Nexus!
This workshop will be in person only and will be limited to 30 spaces. sign up now via the ADD Moodle page!

Good evening everyone!
Tomorrow we will be exploring the emerging 'BIM 2.0' apps from CoreSpec 3D to create a real, surveyed digital twin!
(Attendees from our BIM in Leicester trip - you'll know exactly why this is important!)
18/03/2026 @ 14:00 - 16:30
The session will run 'in-person' only as we will be using the ADD Ipads to survey a space, to then create an accurate, live, 3D digital twin that can be used in other software packages.
You will learn to navigate Corespec 3D, Digitally Map a surveyable space (MTC), Create true to scale 3D floor plans, and turn a physical space into a working digital model.
Prior to the session
This lecture will be run in-person only and will not be recorded! (as part of the session is interactive)
Sign up is limited to 30 places and is available via the ADD Moodle page now!
This weeks workshop: Revit Design Options!
This hands-on workshop explores adaptive re-use workflows in Revit by combining phasing with parallel design options and presenting outcomes through a diptych format. In this workshop, we will learn to setup a Revit project, understand phasing & demolition, test two live design options, and produce clear comparative drawings to communicate refurbishment proposals. We will be using real project workflows as well as adopting Revit as a design exploration tool rather than purely a clinical BIM environment.
Sign up and teams link are available via the ADD Moodle page.
This Wednesday!
Elevate your projects with the power of D5 Render!
In this introductory session, we will guide you through the complete D5 workflow, from navigating the interface and syncing your 3D models to mastering scene atmosphere and high-fidelity output.
Learn how to produce professional images in minutes!
There will be no sign up slots this week due to the Moodle upgrade programme being extended.
The session will run live in person on a first come first served basis, so please turn up at the MTC Cad Lab at 2pm this wednesday!
Master the fundamentals of Adobe Express in this interactive workshop, focusing on integration with Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign, Fast editing workflows, Collaborative tools, and access to 1000+ templates.
This is a particularly useful workshop if you are currently about to submit your poster for the MSA Live project, as this will help bring your ideas to life in a professional format.

Good evening everyone!
Tomorrow we will be running the long awaited update to our highly successful 'Ultimate Guide to 3D site models'. (over 10k views!)
Our workshop tomorrow will show you newer techniques and software approaches, so it's definitely not one to miss!
Want to take your site analysis to the next level? In this workshop, we’ll explore how to combine OpenStreetMap data with Google Maps imagery to build beautiful, precise, and studio-ready site models. Perfect for anyone preparing briefs, concept diagrams, massing studies, or atmospheric visuals.
You’ll learn how to:
- Pull building footprints + site boundaries from OSM
- Capture and align Google Maps imagery for accurate reference
- Present your site with clarity, context, and visual accuracy
- Build quick massing in Blender
