Thank you, @hiiff_official for a wonderful Asian premiere of our film. Thank you for the 90-minute Q&A for an 80-minute film. It is a privilege not to be taken for granted. We cannot put a value on what Josh and I gained during the talkbacks. We heard from people who were seeing an African film for the first time, as well as from women, young and old, who came to the screening in twos, and threes and fours. Bestie movement is strong in China. We also heard from women facing the same issues addressed in the film. Best of all, we heard from a woman who purchased a ticket to the film for a second time to confront us about the bad choices made by our characters. This is the kind of anger that we set out to evoke. Thank you to the young filmmakers who stayed after the film to share how this film inspired them to refine the trajectory they are on. Africa-Asia co-productions in the works! Beyond film screenings, thank you for allowing us into spaces that showcase the cultural beliefs and practices of minority people in China. This trip was not just a film festival, but a true masterclass. 谢谢, xièxiè.
