30 chapter 9

At the final chapter of my 30’s, I reflect on things I’ve experienced and accomplished. This past year in particular was less of doing and more resting. In the resting I’ve become more clear about who I want to be, how I want to spend my time and with who.

Here’s what I know now…
You’re never too old to dream and scheme
Believe actions not words
Life is full of surprises
The answers always no unless you ask
If a truth burns a bridge, I’ll bring the matches
Always expect the unexpected
Tell people you love them and often
Embrace life’s challenges for those are the golden nuggets that shape us
Say yes to things that scare you
Trust your gut
Speak less listen more
Small talk is cheap give me the goods
To be interesting, is to be interested
If you don’t put your feet on the ground, life will float right by you
The brave don’t live forever but the cautious don’t live
Live life unabashedly and boldly
Let yourself be seen fully
Can’t wait to go grey….

Getting to finally do the entirety of the S2S trail feels like a great accomplishment. It’s a beautiful beast and am grateful to have trails like this in my own back yard. Most importantly I stuck to my goal of not doing big adventures alone. Everything is better shared with others.

Sarah @ms.fix_it and JACK have done some big trips together, through thick and thin, easy and tough, great weather and harsh.
