Some friendships stand the test of time. Nearly 20 years ago, Dave Kinahan and I were friends and former colleagues at Joslin Diabetes Center, and I’m so grateful that our connection has endured through the years.
Today, Dave serves as Associate Vice Chancellor for Medical Advancement at Washington University in St. Louis, and I’m deeply appreciative of his support for Pastor Pearline’s Philanthropic Kitchen. It means so much when friends champion your work and your story.
I’m especially looking forward to joining Dave and his colleagues in St. Louis later this year for what I know will be a meaningful conversation about philanthropy, purpose, and the inspiration behind this book.
Friendship, faith, and full-circle moments. 💕📚

Thank you to @jamaicanassociationofma for the honor of being your guest speaker and featured author at your inaugural Tea Party yesterday. It was a joy to share in such a beautiful gathering, speak about purpose and leadership, and connect through my book signing.#
As a proud Jamaican, it meant so much to celebrate our culture, community, and the incredible potential of the estimated 60,000 Jamaicans who call Massachusetts home. Wishing JAM every success as you continue to grow and strengthen this important community. 🇯🇲✨ #ProudJamaican #JamaicanAssociationofMassachusetts #teaparty #pastorpearlinesphilanthropickitchen 💚 🖤💛✊🏽💫📖
What a meaningful afternoon with the @jamaicanassociationofma Jamaican Association of Massachusetts as their guest speaker, author talk guest, and book-signing author.
I was especially honored to share Pastor Pearline’s Philanthropic Kitchen Recipes for Raising Millions: Leading with Purpose & Building Community—a labor of love inspired by my mother and our family’s belief in purpose, generosity, and community.
As a proud Jamaican, being welcomed by an organization representing more than 60,000 Jamaicans across Massachusetts was deeply meaningful. Our diaspora continues to lead, build, and inspire in extraordinary ways.
Thank you to the Jamaican Association of Massachusetts for your warm hospitality, for supporting the book, and for creating space to celebrate culture, leadership, and community.
🇯🇲 Out of many, one people. 🇯🇲
