Your credit has NOTHING to do with your actual age! That’s a major misconception I see all the time.
It doesn’t matter if you’re 30 or 40; if you only started using credit six months ago, your file is only six months old. Your credit age is based solely on the oldest account on your report and the average age of all your accounts.
If you don’t have at least five years of history, you need to strengthen that profile.
Adding an authorized user with a high limit and long history, like a $25,000 limit with 10 years of age, can immediately boost your history and strengthen your profile.
