50% SD plan options for our Camp Cabin project 📐 In response to the existing grade and our clients’ request for privacy between “wings” of their new-build house, the plan was separated into two islands: primary suite/living room and guest suite/kitchen.
After living in their historic home for more than 20 years, the homeowners of our Hancock Park project decided to add an en suite primary bathroom. With a small second level addition, our design divided a single large bathroom and dressing room into two new bathrooms. We specified @fireclaytile architectural trim tile to blend the new bathrooms with the 100 year old house. In order to convert one bathroom into two (a primary en suite and a guest bath,) we designed a small addition to occupy a rarely-used second level balcony. With matching cladding and a fresh coat of paint, the addition blends in to the existing rear elevation of this historic house. 📷 Build photos: @pomonadoobie 🏛️ Structural Engineering: @ec_engineering 👷GC: @manchenconstruction
The scope of our recently completed Hancock Park project included three bathroom gut remodels and a small second level addition. Swipe to view demo progress and existing condition photos (once a blue bathroom, always a blue bathroom.) We enjoyed getting creative with the design, ensuring that the finishes felt authentic to the 100 year old house while using playful texture and color. 📷 Build photos: @pomonadoobie 🏛️ Structural Engineering: @ec_engineering 👷GC: @manchenconstruction
The central living room in our Altadena rebuild is a welcoming entry space, a family gathering space, and an anchor in the floor plan. Glass sliders connect interior to exterior, opening up the living room to the rear yard courtyard which functions as an additional (outdoor) living space.
The vaulted communal rooms in our Altadena rebuild are framed by bedrooms and other service spaces with attic and HVAC above. A jog in the gable roof makes space for a room-length clerestory window in the living room and upper punched windows in the kitchen.
The design of our Altadena like-for-like rebuild is influenced by our clients’ previous house and their admiration for the courtyards often present in Eichler Homes. The proposed house is fire-hardened with fiber cement siding and a standing seam metal roof. Swipe to see a diagram of the like-for-like footprint 🏗️
