I rode so many amazing #freakbikes at this event. Fantastic to do this only an hour from home. It was sweaty and everyone was so kind. I taught others and others taught me (and in many cases encouraged me when I thought I couldn’t ride one). I rode my first Tall Bike and one of the lowest to the ground bikes I have ever ridden. Highlights were: the horse bike, the pedal with your hands/ steering wheel with your feet bike, the lay on your stomach bike, the bike where you sit between two giant wheels, the roller skate bike, and just riding a bunch of different swing bikes and talking about them with other enthusiasts. Made some friends for a day and that was pretty awesome!

Spirit Dog builds for the Old West End Festival Parade. This is my first time building a backpack puppet rig (let alone 3). This is a variety of methods co-opted from studying others’ videos on Instagram and some of my own scrappy ideas. Specific thanks to @thingumatheatre for posting enough workshop videos that helped me piece some ideas together. Thanks to my coworkers for materials suggestions and donations. This week ended with a 3 lovely events. My graduation from @bgsuart with a Masters of Art Education. Being honored by a talented student photographer who is also at the top of her class academically while another of my students photographed the vent like a pro! And ending my graduation evening with a beautiful party at @theartscommission ’s best party of the year, The Mix. A heck of a way to kick off the last month of the school year 😃
Getting closer to the moon coming out every night in A2! Checkout this transition to nighttime over the nearly finished mural by Anthony Lee @a.l.wrk . I’m happy to say that the lights are finalized and in position. Power soon to come!

I’ve been working for months on a mural and light installation for Downtown Ann Arbor, MI for @a2artcenter . I’m happy to be working with muralist Anthony Lee @a.l.wrk to create a sunset mural that transitions to an illuminated night sky at dusk with a series of custom lights I’ve put together. Anthony has just begun the mural and we have permanent electrical yet to be installed… so stay tuned for when we go live and the stars come out every night at 4th Ave and Liberty St.
