Atlanta, we’re proud to have @mrnathanwallace joining us as our Spotlight Poet for next Thursday, May 14th at Atlantucky.
Nathan is a poet from Hinesville, Georgia now based in Atlanta, a Georgia State alum, the 2019 Atlanta Youth Poet Laureate, a multiple slam champion, & a teaching artist doing real work in the community.
We’re a little over a week out now.

We will be hosting the city of Savannah youth poetry Slam on May 30 !!! 💫
This slam will be a day full of activities starting with a workshop led by spoken word poet & Slam Champion, Nathan Wallace.
We are inviting youth from all around the region to participate. Please let us know you are interested by filling out the short form in our bio!

Someone once told me if I start the year off at roc bottom I’d have to end it in a mansion , I didn’t but I did win a national championship, Exit 36 with one of my brothers Ephraim. A thank you to God for being the source of my strength and allowing me to bless people with my work. A special thank you to my coach Ashlee Haze, you believed in me and trusted my work as I trusted you , you challenged me to push myself and trust myself, it wouldn’t have been possible without you . Another special thank you to my brother Chev, a world Champion in his own right, we battle it out in Atlanta week after week. Iron truly sharpest Iron and I learn from you daily, I wouldn’t be the poet I am today without you serving as a standard. A huge thank you to Maya Write my book editor, sister , and teammate you always ready to practice or hold me accountable @maya_write and my bta crew that keeps me honest and pushes each other to grow our craft. A thank you to everyone who encouraged me and congratulated me and helped along the way .
Lastly a thank you to 17year old me that entrusted me with this dream , I could not achieve everyone you gave me but I did keep protect this one and now poetry is bringing you to Africa. This one’s for the 912 and the 404.
