Thanks to the UK @Telegraph for including my book, ‘On Xi Jinping’, on its list of the Greatest Books of 2025. I hope it continues to be of use to those seeking to understand and manage this most consequential relationship for all of us. K /books/authors/best-books-of-2025

Never die wondering. Work out what you believe in, and do it. My commencement address to the University of Southern California's Sol Price School of Public Policy graduating class of 2026.

China’s President Xi appears to have has laid out a new strategic framework for the bilateral relationship. He calls it “constructive strategic stability” which sounds like a form of leader-led detente but still with deep red lines on Taiwan. On US ABC News Live yesterday discussing this and other new directions discussed so far during the US-China summit in Beijing.

What happens in Beijing this week will shape the future of US-China business. And US-China business will shape the future of the global economy. My view: both Washington and Beijing now have a shared interest in stabilising the relationship for the period ahead.

Good to be back on stage at Asia Society in New York with Ian Bremmer from Eurasia Group. Great discussion on the Trump-Xi Summit; China’s posture towards resolving Iran/Strait of Hormuz; as well as what’s happening in what has become the forgotten war in Ukraine. And beyond geopolitics, what all this means for the global economy.

There are challenges that all countries face that cross borders. The US and China have an opportunity to collaborate on these shared challenges that also affect us all. Like accelerated clinical trials for drugs to treat a wide spectrum of cancers.

We will remember them. I joined Australians and New Zealanders gathered at dawn on the USS Intrepid to honour the sacrifice of those who have served. At that same hour, more than a century ago, the ANZACs prepared to land at Gallipoli - the beginning of a story that still endures today.
