Angels and Muse gave me the opportunity to share two of my projects last year, in Lagos and Benin City respectively.
This post highlights the production process of ‘Invisible Pedestrians’, which I exhibited in Benin City. I’ve put together some footage showing the journey from ideation to the final exhibition. It all began in Cotonou, where I first received the revelation after witnessing a masquerade festival on the street. When I returned to my studio in Lagos, I created the first sample, and the project continued to evolve as I explored different ways to present the work. Many thanks to Emeka Ogboh and @reneeakitelekmboya for the long calls and the creative brainteasers that shaped the first presentation of ‘Invisible Pedestrians’.
Interestingly, I now have a clearer vision of how to expand the project, through experimenting with new materials and exploring larger-scale possibilities for future presentations.
The @blackmuseartfestival at the sculpture park in Benin City wasn’t just an exhibition; it was a statement that celebrates and affirms the position of the Great Benin Kingdom in contemporary culture making in Nigeria. Thank you @victorsozaboy for consistently putting Nigeria on the map and for inspiring me. And many thanks to the @angelsandmuse team, everyone who came to see the exhibition, and those who supported online as well.
Stay tuned for more this year…

I am Mr. Danfo, a Lagos-based multimedia artist with a professional certification on ‘Child Protection Policy’.
I have been working with children for about 10 years now and it is with confidence that I say, exposing children to the arts (music, visual arts, literature, and theatre) is an invaluable gift to prepare them for the future, especially in this technology age.
For children, art education is crucial for cultivating emotional resilience, motor skills, physical wellbeing, problem-solving, and in helping them learn across diverse subjects.
I’m launching a weekly (Saturday) art class for children in my studio, starting this March, 2026.
Please help me spread the word to everyone in Lagos especially those in Surulere.
Registration link is in my bio.

While I am currently developing new projects on safety and urban life, I have also been reflecting on how my time @embassy.of.foreign.artists with the support of @prohelvetia_johannesburg has impacted two major projects I have developed in the last two years.
Every time I look back at my work and how it has developed over time, I’m thankful for growth and for the people and institutions that have supported me.
Aside this post, I plan on sharing more production process content this year.

Meet Mr Danfo (Seidougha Eyimiegha), one of the artists exhibiting at the Black Muse Art Festival, Benin City, November 2025.
For the exhibition Today, Tomorrow, The Moon Will Still Be, he presents Invisible Pedestrians, a work that reimagines the modern city as a stage for ancestral return. Drawing on the presence of masquerades from across Africa, the piece transforms the urban landscape into a space where memory, movement, and spirit coexist.
Through his works, Mr Danfo invites us to look closer at everyday structures to see within them the spirit, motion, and memory of the city itself.

My ongoing exhibition, 'The Gods of Safety,' has evoked meaningful conversations about the importance of localized road signs that reflect our unique cultural identity. It is heartwarming to see visitors smile while engaging with the artworks, and observing how some works are more photographed among the 80 pieces on display. In this post, I am sharing with you the most photographed works amongst others.
If you haven't had a chance to visit, you still have this week to experience 'The Gods of Safety' in person @angelsandmuse . Don't miss this opportunity to see the exhibition and join the conversation on safety and cultural identity.
Also remember to tag someone who might need to see this post.
We are glad to have opened our doors to Seidougha Eyimiegha’s (Mr Danfo) solo exhibition titled “The Gods of Safety” on May 4th, 2025.
The exhibition gently probes the tension between safety signs and deities—both of whom serve the functions of protecting and providing direction. It also challenges the orthodoxy around signage and invites us to consider the possibilities that might arise if signage is localized to particular areas.
Here are some photos from the opening 📸 ✨
The exhibition remains open till the 23rd of May, 2025.

This exhibition is a celebration of people and places in constant intersection. It is a visual homage to our lives and how diversity enriches our shared existence.
As Galerie d’Art Contemporain du Africain à Lomé beautifully puts it: “At the crossroads of signs and cities, Mr Danfo deciphers the forgotten language of the streets, where order and chaos intertwine. His art, rooted in reality and transcended by thought, unveils the hidden beauty of the urban world and the fragility of our presence within it.”
“A Chapter of My Life Across Borders” reflects my journey across countries, highlighting the people, places, and experiences that continue to shape me into a better version of myself.
Thank you all for showing up to my vernissage, for sharing my work, and for the outpouring of love in your messages.
Je vous aime tous...😘😘

Whether it’s “Canal Works” or “Men at Work” or “Construction Site”, the man with shovel icon has become synonymous with our construction sites warning signs globally, 🚧 🏗️ and today, I want to celebrate the woman behind the original design of this sign. She also designed the “Schoolchildren Crossing” and worked with Jock Kinneir to create the Transport typeface between 1957 and 1963.
She is a British graphic designer and typographer Margaret Calvert. Her work has impacted the world and as we celebrate International Women’s Day, I want to celebrate Margaret for her great works on road signalization.
Danfo iconographies are second to none. They beautifully represent the culture of Lagos in all its glory and diversities.
They have been an endless source of inspiration for me in many ways, and today I draw inspirations from them to reimagine street signalization as exemplified in this piece.
I would like to hear your opinion on what this iconic symbol represents.
Let’s take a short trip to some of the cities that made my 2024 awesome.🤩
These cities blessed me with beautiful views, great foods, amazing people and inspiration for my work. It is because of the experiences I had in the most of this year I am still busy in my studio till this very moment.
So I will be sharing 10 random photos representing 10 cities and 9 countries in no particular order.
