Momo Hudes loves all.
The inspiration for Momo’s sandal design comes from traditional American maritime tattoos. Momo believes, “there’s this relationship between tattoo culture and being trans because they are both a form of self- modification. Overlaps between tattoos, queers, and the ocean fascinate me and resonate with me deeply.” Surfing the same coastline that inspired so many maritime artists fills Momo with moments of both happiness and grounding. “All bodies belong in the water and through design and illustration I try to create images that feel joyful, loving and fun.”
