Today, I watched as non-affiliated UofL students stood in support of the deactivated UofL branch of Students for Justice in Palestine. The term âdeactivatedâ comes recently after the RSO found themselves temporarily suspended from the University for a demonstration during the inauguration of UofL President, Gerry Bradley. Todayâs ongoing demonstration is a student-led response to that suspension, and a call to the University to divest its funding for key companies aiding Israel in its violent conquest of Palestine. Several attempts made by the group of students to set up an overnight encampment were immediately forcibly removed by police.
If anyone else had asked me to do a wedding shoot at this point of my life, I probably would have answered with a poorly faked, âsorry I wish I couldâŠâ but the McMillenâs are two people whose love I find a blessing to even spectate. Aside from Mrs. McMillen being the least demanding yet most confident bride, Mr. McMillen is a true servant leader & frankly just makes shit happen. I cannot thank them both enough for letting me once again capture these important moments in their lives. To forever and ever, McMillenâsđ„
My first time visiting the Pacific Northwest was Fall 2021 in Portland, Oregon. Both times I visited Portland, I marveled at the ability of the city to still maintain all the qualities of urban infrastructure while also not impeding the beautiful nature surrounding the city. As someone from the east coast, you realize how centuries of heavy colonization has distorted the true beauty of America as a large, diverse, monument of nature. I donât blame the English Colonists though, I blame the CEO of Bucceeâs.
NorCal is refreshing to someone who hates the over concrete-ification of most major cities like myself. San Francisco especially is a large metroplex with diverse communities and doesnât feel as nearly as gridlocked and segregated by automobile access like its SoCal competitor, Los Angeles. Like all the best cities though, there is a huge paywall to have a comfortable life in a Northern California oasis. Is the breeze from the bay worth $4,000 a month in rent?
Thousands of demonstrators popped out in Downtown Louisville in June to speak against some of the many injustices that have been committed by our president & lawmakers in recent years.
