I had the amazing opportunity to film some DJ sets for @cicada.dtx a couple weeks ago. They’re some of the absolute coolest artists I’ve gotten the chance to film. Hopefully you like the edit :]

Here's a quick recap of the craziest year of my life (better late than never). All photographers & videographers have been tagged in this post, so please check them out! A few more remarks: Over 15 years ago, I downloaded VirtualDJ 7 for the very first time on our dinghy family Compaq. I had heard one DJ mix on the radio, which ultimately sealed my career path, as I have never been this sure about doing anything else. For as long as I can remember, DJing has continued to be the only thing I want most in my life. If you had knocked on that kid's door and told him that in 2025 he would play 10 shows, finish a 4-year radio run, AND start his own DJ/music collective with his friends, he'd probably shut the door in your face and go back to playing Nintendo Land. Ultimately, all of that did happen (and then some more). I am incredibly privileged & grateful to have had the opportunity to meet so many new people whom I'm now able to call friends. Everything that happened this year would not have materialized if it weren't for your support, for which I am indebted to you all. Thank you, so so very much. To the Open Decks crew over at Curfew, thank you for allowing me to continue to grow & learn more about lighting & VJing, as well as obviously being my own kinda sandbox where I can experiment with genres I don't usually play outside those walls. To everybody who's contributed to @cicada.dtx , I thank you as well. I can't name them all here, otherwise I'll exhaust the character limit, but I would like to thank @adilouis.fm & @fernando.colm for believing in the initial phase of this project, and helping me turn it into something I never conceived to be possible, as well as @theyseemerollintheyhayden for bringing his entire array of lighting equipment to elevate the quality of every single CICADA show this year. Finally, the biggest thank you to the one person who has been there since the Paperman days, @rajiv_lens . Thank you for documenting the journey this year, and for being the first person to fully support this passion of mine. I hope I'm able to make it all up to you in the future. Happy new year to you all! For Brownie 🌌 -marco (aka name-searcher)

Here's a clip from the last few minutes of my Pseudo Stereo debut for RadioUTD (shoutout @zedd ). I spent close to a month preparing and practicing for my set, and seeing everybody dancing, vibing, and sword-fighting made all of it worth it. To everybody who was there, thank you so much. These sets are not the same without a crowd's energy, and you guys absolutely delivered, and for that, you have my eternal gratitude. Thank you, @radioutd , for this wonderful opportunity and all the others that came before it. I would still be making mixes in my bedroom if it weren't for Small Moments and every single DJ Fest I got to perform at. Last but not least, thank you to the one person thats been there since the beginning of the namesearcher project, @rajiv_lens . He also recorded this clip (and the rest of the set, too), so go follow his account if you haven't yet! This year has been absolutely insane, and I can't wait to close it out with you all. See you soon :) -marco (aka name-searcher) ps. if you've read this far, leave a comment if you see yourself on stage!!

If my memory serves me right, only one of my friends knows I had an irrational fear of dogs growing up. I can't exactly pinpoint when this started, but I know it stemmed from a ridiculous nightmare I had when I was less than 10 years old. Halfway through high school (possibly 2018), my family adopted Brownie. Fast forward to the day I'm writing this, and I now have 623 more photos of her in my Google Drive than I thought I would ever have. Throughout her 7-8 years on this Earth, she helped me find a new love for dogs, which seemed impossible for me 10 years ago. By the time this goes up, she'll have moved on to the next life. Only two other people have received the same love I gave her when she was with us, and I only hope she knew that as well. I'll forever be patiently waiting for my turn to join her (if I'm fortunate enough to earn that privilege). Thank you for everything, doggo!! I truly am the luckiest person alive because I had the great opportunity to spend these past few years of my life with you ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I'll be hosting the final episode of Small Moments this Friday (April 18th) from 6 - 9 PM. It's a showcase of the sounds that kickstarted my passion for DJing almost 10 years, as well as my favorite songs that I've played on campus for the last 4 years, all mixed live (for the first time in RadioUTD if I'm correct) by yours truly. The link to tune in is in my bio, see you there :) -marco (aka name-searcher)

Almost 4 years ago, I was accepted as a trainee at RadioUTD and started building this radio show concept called Small Moments. It's a reference to a song of the same name by Above and Beyond (who are also famously known for saying, "Life is made of small moments like this."). Today, the first episode of the last season of Small Moments will air on RadioUTD. This is the original vision and concept for the show I wanted to make all those years ago. 40-45 minutes of nonstop electronic music (mixed by me). I also left some pictures of all the flyers that had my show on it (minus the summer ones, but I think I did 3 in total for those). I always wanted to have a platform that would allow me to share all the music that I listen to. Not only did I get just that, but I also got a platform for me to grow as a DJ and as a person because I can guarantee that I would not be the same if I chickened out of the trainee interview. This semester's show is made with everyone I've met these past 4 years who have supported me and believed in me in most of what I've wanted to do. You have my eternal gratitude, and I wish you nothing but the best in everything you do. We'll be doing this for 9-10 weeks, and I hope you can tune in for one of the shows. See you soon, Marco (aka name-searcher)
