Each frame is handcrafted in Japan from premium cured cellulose acetate — a material derived from natural cotton and wood pulp that develops richer color and character over time. The hinges and trim are custom copper beryllium, chosen for its durability and the warmth of its tone against the acetate. The temples are beta-titanium, a material prized in Japanese eyewear manufacturing for its flexibility, featherweight feel, and resistance to fatigue — it bends without breaking and returns to its original shape every time.
The lenses are Japanese-made mineral glass, optically superior to polycarbonate and acrylic alternatives, with a natural clarity and scratch resistance that synthetic lenses can’t match.
The craftsmen who build these frames have spent lifetimes refining a production process passed down generation to generation — a fitting thing, given that the brand itself was built the same way.
