We've all been short on snow this season, so it's been about discovering new outdoor adventures and seizing those opportunities! From joining the crew for chair de-rime to exploring the peaks outside the normal avenues, and even a midnight biking adventure there has been plenty to do!
Looking from ‘25 to ‘26 holds an air of coming “full circle” and just a quick look though a year’s worth of my photos shows the drastic differences and similarities at either end of my year. Most obviously on both ends I was able to get in front of a camera in the snow. However, my approach to the world around me changed significantly in that time and the most obvious evidence of that is my mullet and beard being retired during the year.. Cleaning up my look is one of the most outwardly obvious changes I’ve made in my overall more intentional approach I’ve been taking to the world! I’ve went back to school, changed my routines related to my health, started learning a new language to teach myself to think differently. Tá me ag foghlaim Gaeilge. Nil ach cúpla focal agam. (Want perspective? Learn a language with no verb “to have”!) It’s not great but it’s getting just a little better every day. Also, I got back on two wheels for the first time in years, and finally I have continued to explore opportunities in the pursuit more new adventures and different perspectives in regard to the recurring adventures I am lucky enough to have! (Or perhaps “lucky these recurring adventures are at me”)
As is the tradition in the Long family I’ll keep it short. What a trip to the see the roots of the family in Ireland and take it in! With sights and funny signs from Temple Bar to the edge of the universe in Dunquin. I cannot wait for the opportunity to go back again. Slán go fóill
Now that it’s done and dusted, time for a little recap of the season! And what a trip it was, RIP my phone and 4Runner… can’t wait to do it again next season, and hopefully not have to replace quite as much stuff
