Road to Rivendell 5.11+ FA
I bolted and climbed this route with my good friend Patrick Humphries in 2022, but I chose not to share anything at the time as it’s located just upstream of the old Mamquam sauna (2nd one). Back then, the ethic was to keep any information about the space to word of mouth, but now that the sauna is gone, I’m pleased to share this climb as it still remains and it’s in one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen.
Access depends on the water level which changes seasonally. You can get to the route via a rappel from a tree or by walking along a log jam in the river.
Please take care as it has been a few years, and the bolts likely spend some time underwater each year. I’d recommend rapping the route first to check them out. Let me know if you go :)
