In honor of Mozambique celebrating 50 years of independence, we are excited to announce that we’ll be producing an anime film called CHIURE: CHILD OF THE SEA. 🌊✨✨
We may not be sharing more updates on this film for a long while (it is a part of our slate of films after MFINDA), so we’re happy to share what we can with you now!
Inspired by Mozambican folklore, CHIURE: CHILD OF THE SEA tells the story of Chiure, a girl who protects her diminishing sea-side community by awakening a centuries old connection to the ocean and an ancient water God sleeping beneath the earth. 🐢
N LITE is producing the film at our studio in Japan in collaboration with Emmy and Annie nominated South African animation studio @lucan_studio 🤝🏾✍🏾🎨
