Our Moving Well groups are performing 'Ebb and Flow' at @doverfringefestival today - come along and support! 💛 Market Square, Dover (CT16 1NU) - 1pm "Ebb and flow: the movement of life. An autobiographical exploration honouring and celebrating the hands we have held, the journeys we have made and the hurdles we overcome." The choreography has been co-created by participants from Dover and Folkestone Moving Well, drawing on their own stories, experiences and movement.

HOT OFF THE PRESS! 🗞️ “I want people to be blown away by our power.” Introducing Dears’ Diaries - a new series spotlighting our core company as they prepare for We’ll Take It From Here, Dear at Wavelengths Festival next month. We’re sharing reflections on ageing, creativity, agency and the process of creating this bold new theatre work. First up is Ginette Casey, who has been part of the company for almost 15 years. In her conversation, she reflects on confidence, collective power and the quiet, everyday ways older women are patronised and underestimated. 🗣️ Read all about it! /news (link in bio) -- @wavelengthsdance @thegrandinfolkestone @aceagrams

Join us on Wednesday 17 June for a special sharing of We’ll Take It From Here, Dear - a bold new work in progress from Moving Memory. Created by our core company, the piece confronts the patronising ways older women are silenced, sidelined and spoken for. Through movement, humour and striking imagery, this new theatre work puts older women’s bodies and voices unapologetically centre stage and says: enough is enough. The evening also includes a new animated film by Sue Bridge and an open Q&A. Wednesday 17 June, 6pm-7pm The Green Room, The Grand Folkestone Part of Wavelengths Festival Book now: /e/well-take-it-from-here-dear-tickets-1988395253730 (link in bio) Generously supported by Arts Council England

What is equity - and why does it matter? 💛 Equity is about making sure everyone has what they need to thrive - recognising that people start from different places and face different challenges. It’s not the same as equality, which treats everyone the same regardless of circumstances. At Moving Memory, we know older people - particularly those who face barriers because of race, class, disability, gender, sexuality or health - are often overlooked or underestimated. Equity means creating spaces where everyone can move, create and share their stories - workshops and performances that are genuinely accessible, welcoming and empowering. By focusing on equity, we challenge systems that exclude people - celebrating diverse older bodies and the richness of their lives. Discover more about our work: (link in bio)

Marking International Dance Day, we’re delighted to announce that @moving_memory will host a special sharing of new work in progress @thegrandinfolkestone as part of @wavelengthsdance . This will be followed by a short animated film and an open Q&A. At the heart of the event is ‘We’ll Take It From Here, Dear’ – a striking new 20-minute theatre piece created by Moving Memory’s core company in collaboration with composer and musician @ninaclarkmusic . The work confronts the persistent patronising and disenfranchising of older women. Following the performance, a new work in progress animated film by Folkestone-based artist @sue_bridge will be screened, created in response to the themes of the piece. We’ll then open up the space for a Q&A – a chance to share your thoughts, questions and reflections, and play a part in how the work develops from here. 📍 The Grand (entrance on Metropole Road East) 📆 Wednesday 17 June, 6pm 🎟️ Tickets via link in bio 📸 @matt.wilson.photography #InternationalDanceDay
