🚨 tickets in bio 🚨 Update*: For our next edition, Moving Closer will settle down at Borisov. It'll be our most extensive event to date, running from the late afternoon well into the night. We'll start off gently with an open listening session by Fenna Fiction, while a tasteful dinner by MIEMIE will be available. After that, Moving Closer co-founders Bcl-2 & casual_observer will ease things into more club-ready territory. That trajectory will be continued by Rotterdam-based vinyl wizard Seb H., an exemplary artist who's gaining more and more traction but who, in our opinion, is still underrated. We're especially excited to welcome Remma to close the night with his deep, rhythm-driven sound and keen sense of narrative. Expect long sets focused on deep and organic grooves, all wrapped in the warm atmosphere our events have come to be known for. Remma organized raves from a young age and established the DIY station, ITMOTR Radio, which has played a significant role in shaping the music culture of the outer Eastern corner of the Netherlands.  Influenced by the deeper side of house and techno, as well as the free party movement from his own region, Remma has developed a distinct artistic vision. At the core of his work lies the pursuit of a club experience in which rhythm, sound, and narrative converge into a compelling whole. For our gathering at Borisov, we welcome Rotterdam-based vinyl wizard Seb H., an exemplary artist who's gaining traction but who, in our opinion, is still underrated. Seb H. finds textures and grooves to suit the moment. He’s a skilled selector that often operates in the sizeable grey areas between genres. His debut EP, untitled, explores the depths of his musical versatility with dub influences that meet skittering percussion, rolling low-end and eerie atmospherics. A collage artist by nature, Fenna Fiction approaches DJing as she does her visual work - weaving the familiar into psychedelic narratives. Bcl-2 One of the originators of Moving Closer. His name comes from the eponymous gene which regulates apoptosis, programmed cell death. With it he embraces the chaos, while still maintaining control. As a former percussionist, his focus is on complex rhythms, without being bound to genre. ———————— casual_observer casual_observer is a DJ and producer originally hailing from Amsterdam, where he co-founded the “Moving Closer” event series. Starting his musical journey as a drummer, his music retains a heavy focus on groove, rhythm and experimentation. Sets by casual_observer are diverse and engaging, finding a unifying groove and energy across the various musical genres he explores. ————————— DJ Dandruff DJ Dandruff is all about deep, warm and driving grooves. His sets create a hypnotic atmosphere, while leaving room for more eccentric, bass-heavy excursions —————————— Daikon Daikon is a DJ with a broad taste and an open approach to electronic music. He’s drawn to swampy techno, lurking drum & bass and leftfield sounds, but has an equal love for house. His mixes are usually diverse, with the occasional curveball, moving between moods and styles while keeping things flowing on the dancefloor. Pass by for a drink and warm seats x

As a little taster for the 21st of November (tickets in bio!), we wanted to share some of our favourite Sub Basics releases. Showing his dub-diversity, we selected a dub-step, dub-techno and a just-dub tune. Shipment (Pt2) - [JUAN007] - Juan Forté (2024) A wonderfully deep UK dubstep track, this tune is one of the first that got us into his sound. He really does his name justice in this one, using the basic dubstep elements (good reverb, great delay, and some drums) together with a clear sub to create wonderful depth and bounce. Less is more. @juanforteuk Earthstrong - [Self-Released] - Self-Released (2017) An addictive leftfield dub tune that we keep coming back to. Some dreamy flutes and other mysterious instruments float above a playful, almost whimsical bounce. This track really envelops you like a reassuring dream. Cause (feat. Toura) - [Cause & Effect EP] - Bait (2024) A great example of the characteristic dub techno that Sub Basics is known for these days. An irresistible, driving groove, with psychedelic sound design that moves all over the acoustic field. The track builds in an organic way, and always leaves us wanting more. @beatricem._bait

For their event at Time is the New Space they’ve invited Sub Basics over from the UK for a 5hr set, which will be his Dutch debut! Sub Basics (UK) embodies the Moving Closer sound by effortlessly moving back and forth between groovy dub techno and sub-heavy dubstep, playing almost exclusively his very own productions! MEET THE ARTIST 🧙‍♂️ We can’t stress enough what a productive and diverse artist Sub Basics is. His sound palette stretches far: Left field house, deep dubby techno grooves, more tech house leaning shapes under his Tommy Basics moniker, dreamy jungle and sub heavy 140bpm cuts. He does it all. Here’s a little list to give further insight in the production wizard that is Sub Basics: - Did you know he produces his music in Mixcraft 10? 🤓 - He needs only about 1,5h to produce a track from start to finish! 🏃‍♂️💨 - Pro production tip from the man himself: Don’t always EQ out all the unwanted frequencies from your samples, there’s often magic hiding in there that can make your track sound fuller 🪄 - He runs his own label @soundtempleof , with a recent 60+ min full length titled “Never Too Late” by himself - Other recent releases on Rotterdam’s techno label @tar_hallow and the renowned @animalialabel from Melbourne - Next to that mr.
