Week 2 of our 200HR YTT and we begin diving deeper into the foundations behind the practice. This weekend we explore anatomy through movement — understanding the body more intelligently as we moved through twists, hip openers, and the progression into binds. Learning not just what the posture looks like… but why we move the way we do. As the practice evolves, so does the refinement. More awareness. More precision. More intentionality in the way we teach and move. We also started unpacking one of the most important skills of a teacher — cueing. The art of communication. Our secret cueing formula that helps students feel, embody, and experience the posture beyond simply “doing” it. This is where the practice starts to deepen. Not just physically — but intellectually, energetically, and emotionally. Stress is often treated as a mental problem, but the body feels it first. When we’re under constant pressure, cortisol stays elevated — keeping the nervous system switched on, the breath shallow, and the body in a low-grade state of tension. Over time, that becomes our “normal.” Yoga works in the opposite direction. Through breath, heat, and movement, it helps regulate the nervous system, lower cortisol, and bring the body back into balance. There’s a moment in training where it all starts to land. Where the thinking softens… and the teaching becomes something you feel. This group — our February 2026 200hr graduates — showed exactly that. Presence. Strength. Clarity. And the courage to stand at the front of the room and hold space. From learning how to cue a single breath… to guiding a full room through Sun A and Sun B… to finding their voice, their rhythm, their way of teaching. It’s never about perfection. It’s about showing up, staying with it, and learning through doing — over and over again. Some taught in their second language. Some pushed through nerves, doubt, and complexity.
