Estão a começar os ensaios de “Acts of Belonging / Atos de Pertença” — uma criação artística participativa que convida a comunidade de Esposende a explorar a relação entre corpo, água e território.
Durante 3 meses, vamos criar juntos um espetáculo ao ar livre, através do movimento, da escuta e da ligação à paisagem. 💧🌿

Este projeto integra as residências artísticas S+T+ARTS AQUA MOTION, coordenadas em Esposende pela Associação Rio Neiva.

We invite the local community of Esposende and the north of Portugal to participate in the dance performance “Acts of Belonging” in the Litoral Norte Natural Park @parquenaturallitoralnorte , inspired by the theme of water. 💦
The performance will be co-created over a 3-month rehearsal period - starting on March 28, 2026 and premiering on June 27, 2026.
The project is directed by Małgorzata Suś in the frame of the artistic residency S+T+ARTS AQUA MOTION @startseu , and coordinated by the Rio Neiva - Environmental NGO @associacaorioneiva . 💧🌿
PRACTICAL INFORMATION:
Participation in the project is free. You can register using the form: link in BIO 🌱
No previous dance experience is needed to participate; the creation process will have educative character.
The weekly rehearsals will take place at @cdjuvesposende .
There will be also a program of outdoor activities and rehearsals 🐾🌊

Last Saturday we were exploring the sense of belonging to the local landscape at the beautiful location - Rio Neiva 🐾💧🦋
Through common movement, exercises of trust and conscious observation, we were able to experience the territory in more embodied way and look at it from a different perspective 🙃🌱

First “Acts of Belonging” workshop took place on 14th February in @cardume.esposende 💙🐟
We tuned into our bodies and the imagery of the Litoral Norte Natural Park, exploring embodiment of water qualities and awakening sense of belonging to a local landscape 💧
The workshop was an introduction and invitation to a further creative process of the “Acts of Belonging” project, developed in collaboration with @associacaorioneiva in the frame of @startseu Aqua Motion programme 2025/26 🌪️🌊💦

No âmbito da sua residência artística S+T+ARTS AQUA MOTION em Esposende, Małgorzata Suś convida a comunidade para três oficinas abertas de movimento, a decorrer durante o mês de fevereiro e início de março, em diferentes locais do concelho.
Estas sessões fazem parte do projeto “Acts of Belonging”, que cruza corpo, ecologia e território, propondo uma escuta sensível do Parque Natural do Litoral Norte através do movimento, da atenção e da relação com a paisagem.
💧 As oficinas são gratuitas, abertas a todas as pessoas, sem necessidade de experiência prévia.

Estas oficinas são um convite a explorar temas como vulnerabilidade, resiliência e cuidado, despertando uma relação mais próxima com a água e o território. Constituem também um primeiro passo para um processo artístico mais alargado, que culminará numa performance no Parque Natural.

Here it is! 💫🐾 Come join us in this 5-week online course that will explore embodied ways of sharing and creating stories, expanding beyond the wor(l)dy universe of written and spoken language. We will reflect on the importance of carrying stories in the uncertain times of the anthropocene, and how this shared responsibility unfolds as an act of interspecies care. Storytelling is said to be a deeply intrinsic feature of human beings but in which ways do animals, places or materials tell stories too, and what kind of futures might be dreamed up from them? We invite you to read, watch, listen and discuss together but also to move, get crafty, write, draw, compose, or unleash your creativity in any other desired way.

After more than three years of our beloved bi-weekly Encounters there is a new format that we are eager to share with you:
Out of this long-term online practice, carried by us as well as all of you who have participated over the years, emerged a five-part course in which we will guide you through different ways of storytelling.
In each session, we will explore embodied ways of sharing, creating or listening to stories, expanding beyond the wordy universe of written and spoken language. You’ll be invited to engage with your bodymind, imagination, surroundings… and don’t forget to bring your animal friends!
